It is with great regret that Marlborough Rovers FC have had to withdraw our u11/2000 team from competitive football with immediate effect.
Mike has struggled all season, infact since before the season started to get enough players interested to play. But they have carried on and have been an outstanding credit to our club. Many games they have played with less than the required number of players ( 9 ) but still they have never given up.Add to this that THREE of the players have been girls in a boys league and you can just start to understand how difficult it all as been.
On Saturday just gone only SIX players turned up and they were fantastic against a much superior Newhall team never ever giving up.I'm sure they were trying their hearts out for Mike.
We want it publicly known that Mike is not and has not ever given up on the team.
It is only through illness that Mike has had to call it a day.
MARLBOROUGH ROVERS FC WOULD LIKE TO THANK MIKE FOR HIS CONTRIBUTION BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY WE WOULD LIKE HIMSELF AND KAREN TO KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL THINKING OF THEM.
